Delegate Andy Shamblin

Andy Shamblin, a member of the Republican Party, assumed office in the West Virginia House of Delegates on December 1, 2022. Born in Charleston, West Virginia, he has dedicated his life to public service, education, and community engagement.

Shamblin’s journey began at Nitro High School, where he graduated in 2009. His commitment to education led him to West Virginia State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 2014. Later, he pursued graduate studies at Marshall University, obtaining a master’s degree in 2018.

As an educator, Shamblin has played a vital role in shaping young minds. His passion for teaching and mentorship extends beyond the classroom. Additionally, he serves as a minister, reflecting his deep-rooted faith and dedication to community service.

In the realm of local governance, Shamblin has made significant contributions. He served as a city council member, actively participating in decisions that impact his constituents. His affiliations include the Nitro Development Authority and the Peoples Federal Credit Union.

Within the West Virginia House of Delegates, Shamblin is involved in several committees, including the Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services Committee, the House Government Organization Committee, the Health and Human Resources Accountability Committee, the House Judiciary Committee, and the Political Subdivisions Elections Committee.

Looking ahead, Andy Shamblin is running for re-election to represent District 59. Voters will have the opportunity to cast their ballots in the general election on November 5, 2024. He advanced from the Republican primary held on May 14, 2024.
