Career: Vince Deeds grew up on a dairy farm in Jumping Branch, West Virginia, and attended Summers County High School. After graduating, he pursued higher education at Virginia Tech, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. His career took an interesting turn when he joined the West Virginia State Police (WVSP) in 1994. Over the next 25 years, Deeds served in various capacities within the WVSP, including detachment commander, inspector, sniper team commander, troop commander, and chief of staff services. His commitment to public safety extended beyond law enforcement; after retiring from the WVSP in 2019, he took on roles in school safety and security for the Greenbrier County Board of Education and as chief investigator for the Greenbrier County Prosecutor’s Office.

Elections: In 2021, Vince Deeds announced his candidacy for the West Virginia State Senate. His campaign gained momentum, and in the 2022 elections, he secured victory in the 10th Senatorial District. Deeds, a Republican, defeated State Senate Minority Leader Stephen Baldwin. His margin of victory—58.7% to 37.9%—highlighted his strong support among voters.

Personal life: Beyond the political arena, Vince Deeds finds fulfillment in family and faith. He is married to Michelle, who serves as the director of nursing at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital. Together, they have two sons: Justin, a Lewisburg PD officer, and Tristan, a West Point cadet. The Deeds family resides in Renick, West Virginia. Additionally, Vince Deeds wears yet another hat—that of a pastor at Sinks Grove Baptist Church.
