Senator Zack Maynard

Zack Maynard is a member of the Republican Party and currently serves in the West Virginia State Senate, representing District 7. He assumed office on November 5, 2025, and his current term will conclude on December 1, 2026.

Maynard was born on March 29, 1992, in Munster, Indiana, and later made his home in Harts, West Virginia. He pursued studies in business management and built a career as a self-employed professional before entering politics. Maynard’s early political career began in the West Virginia House of Delegates, where he represented District 22 from December 1, 2016, until December 1, 2022. During his tenure in the House, he succeeded Michael Moffatt and served until redistricting led to Daniel Linville taking over the seat. His time in the House of Delegates provided him with legislative experience and a platform to advocate for conservative values and policies that reflected the priorities of his constituents.

In October 2025, Maynard was appointed by Governor Patrick Morrisey to the West Virginia State Senate to fill the vacancy left by Michael B. Stuart’s resignation. His appointment was followed by his official assumption of office on November 5, 2025. Representing District 7, which includes Boone, Kanawha, Lincoln, and Logan counties, Maynard has focused on issues central to the region, such as economic development, energy, and community support.
