John Spiros, born on July 28, 1961, is an American businessman and Republican politician. He has been serving as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing central Marathon County since 2013.

Early Life and Career: Born in Akron, Ohio, John graduated from Marietta High School in 1979. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he spent six years as part of the Air Force Security Police. Notably, he was a member of the 3906th Special Security Squadron, responsible for protecting Air Force generals and the Strategic Air Command. John received the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal and was honorably discharged in 1985.

After leaving the Air Force, he pursued an associate’s degree in criminal justice from Metropolitan Community College in Omaha, Nebraska. Subsequently, he worked as a police officer in Dallas, Texas. In the 1990s, John joined Kaplan Trucking Company and later became the director of safety and claims. Since 2002, he has held the position of vice president of safety and claims management at Roehl Transport, a trucking business based in Marshfield, Wisconsin.

Political Career: John Spiros entered politics in 2005 when he was elected to the Marshfield Common Council, defeating the incumbent. He served on the council until 2013, including a term as council president in 2009. In 2012, he ran for the open 86th Assembly district seat in Wisconsin, which had been vacated by Jerry Petrowski. John secured victory in the Republican primary and went on to win the general election against Democrat Dennis Halkoski. He has since been reelected four times.

Within the Wisconsin State Assembly, John chairs the Assembly Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety and co-chairs the Joint Review Committee on Criminal Penalties. Additionally, he serves on other committees related to state affairs and transportation.

Personal Life: John Spiros resides in Marshfield, Wisconsin, with his wife, Rebecca. They have five adult children and four grandchildren.
