Representative Mark Born

Mark Born is a Republican member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 37th Assembly District. He assumed office on January 6, 2025, and his current term is set to end in January 2027.

Born and raised in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, Mark has deep roots in his community. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1994 and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1998. Before entering politics, he worked as a corrections supervisor for the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department, gaining valuable experience in public service and law enforcement.

Mark’s political career began with his election to the Beaver Dam City Council, where he served from 2005 to 2009. His dedication to his community and his leadership skills paved the way for his election to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2012. Over the years, he has represented different districts, showcasing his adaptability and commitment to serving the people of Wisconsin.

In the Assembly, Mark has been an influential figure, serving on various committees and taking on leadership roles. He is currently the Co-Chair of the Joint Committee on Finance, a powerful position that allows him to play a significant role in shaping the state’s budget and financial policies. His work on this committee reflects his focus on fiscal responsibility and his dedication to ensuring that taxpayer dollars are used effectively.

Outside of his legislative duties, Mark is an active member of his community. He is involved in several local organizations, including the Dodge County Historical Society and the Beaver Dam Lake Improvement Association. He is also a member of Trinity Church United Methodist in Beaver Dam. When he’s not working, Mark enjoys spending time with his wife, Liberty, and their daughter. He is an avid sports fan and loves cheering for Wisconsin’s beloved teams, including the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers.
