Paul Melotik, born on February 27, 1957, is an American politician affiliated with the Republican Party. He assumed office as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing District 24, on August 7, 2023.

Representative Paul Melotik was elected to the 24th Assembly District in a special election in July of 2023. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Committee on Government Accountability and Oversight, the Committee on Regulatory Licensing Reform, and the Committee on Jobs, Economy, and Small Business Development.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on February 27, 1957, Paul Melotik has spent his entire life in Southeastern Wisconsin. He attended Nathan Hale High School in West Allis, graduating in 1975. Later, he pursued a double major in Business Administration and Accounting at Carroll College in Waukesha, earning his BS degree in 1979. During his college years, Rep. Melotik was an active athlete, earning All-Conference honors in football and contributing to his team’s Conference Championship in 1977.

Paul’s professional journey led him into the small business world. He has been the owner/operator of several businesses throughout his career. Notably, he was part owner of Club 400 Bar and Grill in Waukesha, followed by other establishments in Whitewater and Milwaukee, including Flannery’s Bar and Restaurant and McGillycuddy’s on Water Street. His commitment to community extended beyond business; for a decade, he served as President of the Water Street Business Association.

In addition to his business endeavors, Paul developed an interest in politics. He served 12 years on the Ozaukee County Board, where he took on leadership roles such as 1st Vice Chair, Finance Committee Chairperson, and Public Safety Committee Chairperson. From 2016 to 2023, he was also a Supervisor on the Town of Grafton Town Board. Furthermore, Paul contributed to the Grafton Library board from 2021 to 2023.

Paul and his wife, Wendy, have resided in Grafton for over 25 years, raising their four children there. They are actively involved in their community, particularly at St. Joseph’s Parish in Grafton. Wendy taught Christian Formation for 12 years, while Paul served as Athletic Director. As a sports enthusiast, he also coached various sports his children participated in and worked as a WIAA basketball referee.
