Ryan Spaude is a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing District 89. He assumed office on January 6, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 4, 2027.

Born on March 29, 1994, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Ryan Spaude grew up in Little Suamico, a small town in the northeastern part of the state. He graduated from Oconto Falls High School in 2012 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University in 2016. Following his undergraduate studies, Spaude gained valuable experience in public service by interning for Congressman Reid Ribble and working as a staff assistant for U.S. Senator Joni Ernst. He later joined Public Opinion Strategies as a researcher, further honing his skills in policy and communication.

In 2019, Spaude pursued a law degree at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he graduated in 2022. He then served as an assistant district attorney in Brown County, focusing on prosecuting cases involving drunk driving. His dedication to justice and public safety earned him recognition in the community.

Spaude’s political career began in 2024 when he announced his candidacy for the newly redrawn 89th Assembly District. Running as a Democrat, he faced a competitive race against Brown County Board Chair Patrick Buckley. Despite the challenges, Spaude emerged victorious, securing his place in the Wisconsin State Assembly. His campaign emphasized issues such as public safety, education, and economic development, resonating with voters in the district.

As a legislator, Ryan Spaude is committed to representing the interests of his constituents and addressing the pressing issues facing Wisconsin.
