Representative Tyler August

Tyler August is a Republican member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 31st Assembly District. He first assumed office in 2011, and his current term is set to end in January 2027.

Born on January 26, 1983, Tyler August is a lifelong resident of Walworth County, Wisconsin. He graduated from Big Foot High School in 2001 and pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In 2012, he completed the Emerging Leader Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business.

Tyler has a long history of leadership within the Republican Party, both at the local and state levels. He has served as a member of the Executive Board of the Republican Party of Wisconsin and as the Chairman of the Republican Party for Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District and Walworth County. His dedication to public service began early in his career when he worked as the Chief of Staff to Representative Thomas Lothian.

Currently, Tyler serves as the Assembly Majority Leader, a role that underscores his influence and leadership within the Wisconsin State Assembly. He has also held the position of Assembly Speaker Pro Tempore in previous legislative sessions. Throughout his tenure, he has been actively involved in various committees, including the Committee on Rules, which he chairs, and several joint committees such as the Joint Committee on Employment Relations and the Joint Legislative Council.

In addition to his legislative responsibilities, Tyler is a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and has been recognized for his contributions to conservative causes. He has received accolades such as the American Conservative Union’s Defender of Liberty Award and was named a GOPAC Emerging Leader in 2012.
