About Representative Terry Everett

Terry Everett (born February 15, 1937) is a former American politician who represented Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. A member of the Republican Party, he served eight consecutive terms in Congress, holding office from January 5, 1993, until January 3, 2009. During this period, he was a key part of Alabama’s congressional delegation and participated in national legislative affairs over the course of sixteen years.

Everett’s tenure as a U.S. Representative for Alabama’s 2nd District spanned a time of significant political change at both the state and federal levels. As a Republican representing Alabama, he contributed to his party’s presence in the region and helped shape policy debates in the House of Representatives throughout the 1990s and 2000s. After leaving office in 2009, he was succeeded by other representatives, marking the end of his formal service as a federal officeholder.
