About Representative Maloy, Celeste
Celeste Maloy is committed to cutting red tape and restoring accountability to government so that Utahns have the freedom to succeed. She was born in Cedar City, Utah, raised in Hiko, Nevada, and grew up in the small-town West before earning a degree in agriculture from Southern Utah University.
Maloy began her career as a soil conservationist, spending a decade working directly with Utah families and farmers. She later earned her law degree from Brigham Young University and built a legal career focused on public lands and water issues, serving as a deputy Washington County attorney, public lands attorney for the Utah Association of Counties, and staff attorney for the Washington County Water Conservancy District. Most recently, she served as chief legal counsel to Representative Chris Stewart before being elected to Congress in 2023.
In Congress, Representative Maloy serves on the House Appropriations Committee and the House Natural Resources Committee. As chair of the Congressional Western Caucus, she is focused on amplifying rural voices and Western priorities, while defending Utah’s rights to use and access its natural resources and public lands.
Maloy remains committed to the principles that define the rural West: freedom, self-reliance, and the right of communities to chart their own future.
