Representative Walter Sooy Jeffries

Walter Sooy Jeffries (born October 16, 1893) was a Republican politician who represented New Jersey in the United States House of Representatives. He served as the member for New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District during the Seventy-sixth Congress. His tenure in the House began on January 3, 1939, and concluded on January 3, 1941, encompassing a single term in federal office.

As a representative, Jeffries served in the U.S. Congress as part of the Republican Party delegation from New Jersey. His time in office placed him among the historical members of Congress who participated in national legislative affairs on behalf of the 2nd District during the late 1930s and early 1940s. After leaving office, he was no longer in public service as a sitting member of Congress, and he is recognized today as a former representative from New Jersey.
