About Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche
The Honorable Todd Blanche is the acting United States attorney general and previously served as the 40th deputy attorney general of the United States. He oversees the work of the 115,000 employees who carry out the Department of Justice’s mission across Main Justice, the FBI, DEA, U.S. Marshals, ATF, and the nation’s U.S. attorney offices.
Todd began his career at the department, where he served for more than fifteen years in a variety of roles, including as a contractor, a paralegal in the Criminal Division, and later as an assistant United States attorney and supervisor in the Southern District of New York.
After leaving the department, Blanche worked as a criminal defense attorney, including representing President Donald Trump in three criminal cases in 2023 and 2024. Following President Trump’s return to the White House, the president appointed him to work alongside Attorney General Pam Bondi.
Blanche has been married to his wife Kristine for nearly thirty years and is the father of two and grandfather of one.
