Representative William Waters Boyce

William Waters Boyce (born October 24, 1818) was a Democratic politician who represented South Carolina in the United States House of Representatives in the mid-nineteenth century. Serving as a member of Congress from South Carolina’s 6th District, he held office as a U.S. Representative from December 5, 1853, until March 3, 1861. His tenure in the House spanned four terms, reflecting sustained support from his constituents during a politically turbulent era in American history.

During his time in Congress, Boyce served as a Democratic representative for South Carolina, participating in national legislative affairs in the years leading up to the Civil War. He remained in office until 1861, at which point his service concluded as South Carolina left the Union. After March 3, 1861, he was no longer in office and is recorded as a former member of the House of Representatives.
