Representative William Jerome Coombs

William Jerome Coombs (born December 24, 1833) was a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives from New York. He represented New York’s 4th Congressional District and served two terms in Congress. Coombs held office as a Representative from December 7, 1891, to March 3, 1895, during a period of late nineteenth-century American political and economic change.

Serving as a Representative for New York, Coombs was affiliated with the Democratic Party throughout his congressional career. His tenure in the U.S. House of Representatives marked his principal role in national public life. After completing his second term in 1895, he left Congress and is recorded as a former officeholder.
