Senator Janice Marchman

Janice Marchman is an American politician who is a member of the Colorado Senate for the 15th district. She was elected in November 2022 and assumed office on January 9, 2023.

Early Life and Education: Marchman was born on a United States Air Force base while her father was serving as a pilot. She graduated from high school in south Georgia and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial and systems engineering from Georgia Tech.

Career: Before entering politics, Marchman had a diverse career. She worked as a business consultant and master scheduler. In addition to this, she joined the Thompson School District in 2016, where she teaches math and computer classes part-time.

Political Career: Marchman’s political journey began when she ran for election to the Colorado State Senate to represent District 15. She won the general election on November 8, 2022, defeating incumbent Republican Rob Woodward. Her current term ends on January 13, 2027.

In the Colorado Senate, Marchman serves as Vice Chair of the Education Committee and is a member of the Agriculture & Natural Resources Committee. She represents Boulder County and Larimer County at the State Capitol.

Personal Life: Janice Marchman lives in Loveland, Colorado. Her career experience includes working as an engineer and as a teacher.
