Representative Linda Tanner Contact information

Linda Tanner is a dedicated and experienced public servant who has made significant contributions to the state of New Hampshire. She is a member of the Democratic Party and represents the Sullivan 5th District in the New Hampshire House of Representatives.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Linda graduated from Blue Ridge High School in New Milford. She then moved to Victoria, Australia, where she completed her Matriculation at Terang High School. Linda pursued her higher education in the United States, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania. She furthered her education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she completed 30 credits in Motor Integration. Linda also holds a Master of Arts in Liberal Studies with a focus on Social Sciences from Dartmouth College.

Before entering politics, Linda had a successful career in education. She served as a teacher and Department Chair at Kearsarge Regional School District, where she was also a Varsity Tennis Coach. Recognizing her contributions, the district honored her with the title of Kearsarge Faculty Emeritus. Linda also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Colby-Sawyer College in New London, New Hampshire.

Linda’s political career began in 2012 when she was elected to represent the Sullivan 9th District in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. She served in this position until 2014 and then returned to office in 2016. In 2022, Linda ran for re-election to represent the Sullivan 5th District. She won the general election held on November 8, 2022, and assumed office on December 7, 2022. Her current term ends on December 4, 2024.

Throughout her tenure, Linda has been an active member of the House Education Committee. The committee is responsible for considering subjects relating to the regulation of school districts and schools, the postsecondary college system, the University System of New Hampshire, and other matters concerning education.

In addition to her work in the House of Representatives, Linda has been involved in local government. She has served on the Sunapee School and Town Advisory Budget Committees and has volunteered for Project Sunapee.

Linda Tanner currently resides in Georges Mills, New Hampshire. She continues to be a strong advocate for education and is committed to serving her constituents in the Sullivan 5th District.
