Rosemarie Rung is a dedicated and accomplished politician from New Hampshire. She is a member of the Democratic Party and represents the Hillsborough 21 district in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Her political journey began when she was elected to the House on November 6, 2018, and she assumed office on December 5, 2018.

Education has played a significant role in shaping Rung’s career. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry, which laid a strong foundation for her diverse professional pursuits. Before entering politics, Rung had a successful career spanning several professions, including analytical chemistry, corporate communications, and public relations. She has worked as a communications manager and public affairs leader at Dow Chemical and as a corporate and learning development professional for Hewlett-Packard.

Rung’s commitment to her community extends beyond her political role. She has served as a director for many local non-profits, including the Nashua YMCA, the United Way of Greater Nashua, SEE Science Center, NH Partners in Education, Rotary Club of Nashua West, Public Relations Society (Yankee Chapter), and NH Partners in Education. She also founded Laura’s World Fund, a 501 (3)c organization that serves underserved children locally and globally.

Her contributions to science education have been recognized with the Wagner Award for excellence in science education by a non-educator. She was also a national finalist for the Kraft Disney Award for Excellence in Volunteerism and is a Paul Harris Fellow.

Rung served over eight years on the Merrimack School Board, several of them as vice-chairman. She and her husband have lived in Merrimack for 37 years. They have three adult children and two grandchildren. In her free time, Rung enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, crafts, and spoiling her grandchildren.
