Representative John Torbett
John Alan Torbett (born May 21, 1956) has been serving as a legislator in the North Carolina House of Representatives since 2010. His district, District 108, includes constituents in Gaston County. Torbett has been re-elected to this seat five times, most recently in 2020.
Before entering politics, Torbett held various roles in the business world. He has been the Vice President of North Carolina Operations for Defense Technologies, Inc. since 2003. Prior to that, he worked as a layout specialist and CEO of Corrugated Converting. His experience in both business and local government has shaped his approach to public service.
Torbett’s commitment to his community extends beyond the state legislature. He served as a Gaston County Commissioner from 2002 to 2010, gaining valuable insights into local governance and community needs.
