Jerry Klein is a distinguished member of the North Dakota State Senate, representing District 14. He assumed office in 1996 and his current term ends on December 1, 2024. Klein is a member of the Republican Party and is running for re-election to the North Dakota State Senate to represent District 14. He is on the ballot in the Republican primary on June 11, 2024.

Klein earned his B.S.C. from the University of Mary. Before his political career, he was a grocery store owner for 35 years. His professional experience includes being the owner of a grocery store.

In his political career, Klein has held several important positions. He served as the Senate president pro tempore in the 2009 session. He was also the Assistant Majority Leader in 2013.

Klein has been an active member of various committees throughout his tenure. In the 2023-2024 legislative session, Klein was assigned to the House Industry, Business and Labor Committee. In the 2021-2022 session, he was assigned to the Senate Agriculture Committee and served as the Chair of the Senate Industry, Business and Labor Committee. He held the same positions in the 2019-2020 session as well.

In addition to his political and professional roles, Klein is also involved in various community activities. He is a member of the Harvey Knights of Columbus, President of the Fessenden Economic Development, Past Chair of the ND Grocers Association, and Past President of the Civic & Commerce Association. He was also named the ND Grocer of the Year in 2005.

Klein is married to Bev and they have four children and thirteen grandchildren. He resides in Fessenden, North Dakota.
