Representative Karen Karls Contact information

Karen Karls is an American politician and a member of the Republican Party. She has been serving as a representative in the North Dakota House of Representatives from District 35 since 2006.

Karls holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology from Minot State University. In addition to her political career, she has professional experience as a wedding cake decorator.

She has held the position of Chair for the District 35 Republicans for 28 years. Karls is also involved in several councils and boards, including the North Dakota Council on Education Opportunity for Military Children, Protection & Advocacy, and she serves as the Board Chair for Volunteer Caregivers for the Elderly and Board Secretary for Western ND Honor Flights.

Karls is married to Ken and they have four children. She is a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.

In her tenure as a representative, Karls has been a part of several committees. These include the Interim Government Services Committee, Judiciary Committee, and the Standing Government and Veterans Affairs. She is also a part of the North Dakota Statutory Committee Court Facilities Improvement Advisory Committee and the State Council on Educational Opportunity for Military Children.

Karls ran for re-election to the North Dakota House of Representatives to represent District 35 and won in the general election on November 8, 2022. Her current term ends on December 1, 2026.
