Representative Lawrence Klemin
Lawrence R. Klemin was born on March 31, 1945, in New Rockford, North Dakota, U.S. He is an American politician and lawyer in the state of North Dakota. He is a member of the Republican Party.
Education: Klemin earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in English from the University of North Dakota. He also holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of North Dakota School of Law.
Career: His professional experience includes working as a lawyer with Schweigert, Klemin & McBride, PC. He has been serving in the North Dakota House of Representatives since December 1, 1998, representing District 47. His current term ends on December 1, 2026. He served as the Speaker of the North Dakota House of Representatives from December 3, 2018, to December 14, 2020.
Military Service: Klemin is a Vietnam veteran, who served in the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault).
Personal Life: He is married to Rita and they have two children. He is a member of the Church of Corpus Christi. He is also a member of several organizations including the American Legion, Elks, Eagles, Optimist Club, and National Uniform Law Commission.
