Terry Wanzek is an American politician born on March 28, 1957, in Jamestown, North Dakota, United States. He is a member of the Republican party and has been serving as a member of the North Dakota State Senate from the 29th District since 2007.

Before his current tenure, he also served in the Senate from 1995 to 2003, and in the House of Representatives from 1992 to 1994. His political career has been marked by dedication and service to his constituents.

In addition to his political career, Terry Wanzek is also a farmer, rancher, and businessman. He graduated Cum Laude with a BA from the University of Jamestown and later attended the Texas A&M TEPAP (The Executive Program for Agricultural Producers).

He has held several positions of responsibility outside of his political career. He has served on the Board of Governors for the University of Jamestown, the Board of the Global Farmers Network, the Board of Nodak Insurance Co., and the Board of Jamestown Regional Medical Center.

His contributions to his community and state have been recognized with the Community Leadership Award from the Greater North Dakota Chamber (GNDC) and the Kernel Award from the North Dakota Grain Growers Association.

Terry Wanzek is married to Janice and they have three children and seven grandchildren. Despite his busy schedule, he finds time to be involved in various community organizations including the Knights of Columbus, Farm Bureau, NAWG, and the Basilica of St. James Catholic Church.
