Representative David Weeks
J. David Weeks, born on September 24, 1953, is a member of the South Carolina House of Representatives, representing district 51 (Sumter County) since 2000. He is affiliated with the Democratic Party and has been actively involved in legislative work.
Weeks has served on the House Judiciary Committee and chaired the Legislative Black Caucus. Currently, he holds the position of Vice Chair of the House Ethics Committee and is a member of the Ways and Means Committee. Beyond politics, Weeks is an attorney, practicing law in South Carolina.
He resides in Sumter, South Carolina, and maintains his offices in Columbia. His educational journey includes a B.A. from Morris College (1975), a J.D. degree from the University of South Carolina (1989), and an M.Ed. from Howard University (1996). Additionally, he is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity.
