Representative Monique Priestley
MONIQUE PRIESTLEY (she/her) of Bradford, is Executive Director for The Space On Main, a nonprofit community workspace she founded in 2017 through which she teaches a variety of programming including business planning and youth STEM. In the height of the pandemic, Monique worked as the Vermont COVID Business Recovery Project Manager for the Center for Women & Enterprise (2020-2022). Monique has been working in technology-related positions for more than two decades. She works remotely as the Director of Digital for CampusCE Corporation in Seattle, Washington. Monique graduated from University of Washington’s Master of Communication in Digital Media program and holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media and an Associate of Science in Graphic Design from Northern Vermont University-Lyndon.
Monique believes strongly that everyone has a responsibility to give back to their communities. She is a Rotarian, Justice of the Peace, school district moderator, and has served on more than two dozen municipal commissions and nonprofit boards in a variety of leadership roles. Most recently, Monique served as chair of Green Mountain Economic Development Corporation, chair of Vital Communities, co-chair of the Bradford Business Association, and as a board member on Vermont Council of Rural Development, Community Capital of Vermont, Cohase Chamber of Commerce, and Little Rivers Health Care. She served as a statewide member of the Vermont Creative Network Steering Team, Future of Vermont Action Team, and Vermont Futures Project’s Young Professionals Advisory Council. Monique has served as a trustee to Bradford Public Library and on the Town of Bradford commissions of Planning, Public Safety, Conservation, Resilience. She has enjoyed many ongoing and project-based advisory roles with organizations such as East Central Vermont Economic Development District (Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy planning team) and River Bend Career & Technical Center (21st Century Media & Design advisor).
Monique is a graduate of Leadership Upper Valley, the Vermont Changemakers’ Table, the Vermont Leadership Institute, and EMERGE Vermont. She has been honored as Cohase Chamber of Commerce’s Citizen of the Year (2018), Vital Communities’ Heroes & Leaders (2019), Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Regional Planning Commission’s Volunteer of the Year (2020), and Vermont Business Magazine’s Rising Stars (2020).
