Representative Dave Maxey

Dave Maxey is a Republican member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 83rd Assembly District. He assumed office on January 6, 2025, and his current term is set to end on January 4, 2027.

Born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Dave Maxey grew up in the state and graduated from Brookfield East High School in 1991. Following his graduation, he served in the United States Navy from 1991 to 1994, an experience that shaped his dedication to public service. After completing his military service, Maxey pursued higher education at Waukesha County Technical College, where he earned an associate degree in marketing in 2002. He later enhanced his expertise by obtaining a certificate in social media marketing from the same institution in 2017.

Maxey’s career in public service began at the local level. In 2008, he was elected to the New Berlin School Board, where he served for nine years, including six years as the board’s president. His leadership and commitment to education earned him recognition in the community. In 2019, he was elected to the New Berlin City Council, further solidifying his role as a dedicated public servant.

In 2022, Maxey announced his candidacy for the Wisconsin State Assembly’s 15th District seat following the retirement of the incumbent representative. He ran unopposed and began his term in January 2023. After redistricting, he successfully transitioned to represent the 83rd Assembly District, continuing his legislative work with a focus on addressing the needs of his constituents.

Throughout his career, Maxey has been an advocate for education, local governance, and community development. He is known for his approachable demeanor and commitment to staying connected with the residents he represents. Outside of his professional life, Maxey resides in New Berlin, Wisconsin, with his wife, Tracy, and their three children. His dedication to family and community remains at the core of his public service philosophy.
