Ryan M. Clancy (born 1977) is an American teacher, business owner, and politician hailing from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He currently serves as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 19th Assembly district since January 2023. Prior to this role, Clancy was a dedicated member of the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors from 2020 to 2024.
Early Life and Career:
- Clancy graduated from Nicolet High School in Glendale, Wisconsin, in 1995.
- During high school, he gained recognition for organizing a student-run alternative newspaper that challenged the school administration.
- He earned his bachelor’s degree in English from Beloit College and later joined the Peace Corps, where he worked as an English teacher in a rural area of the Philippines.
- Clancy’s commitment to activism led him to protest the Iraq invasion, resulting in a legal battle defended by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
